    Mango Brown Betty

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups under ripe mango slices
    • 3/4 cup brown sugar
    • 3 tablespoons water ( if necessary)
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

    Instructions

    Melt butter and add bread crumbs and nutmeg. Place layer of buttered crumbs in oiled baking dish. Add layer of mangos. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Finish with crumbs on top layer. Bake 1 hour in moderate oven. Serves 4-6 note: Serve hot or cold with sweetened whip cream or ice cream or plain .
