Shortcut Country Apple Dessert
If you love comforting baked goods but don't have a ton of time to make them, try this simple recipe for Shortcut Country Apple Dessert. Using a yellow cake mix and a can of apple pie filling, you'll barely have to lift a finger to make this delicious autumn-inspired treat.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 can (20-ounce) apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and egg at low speed with electric mixer to form a crumbly dough.

Press mixture into bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Spread apple pie filling over top.

Combine brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle over pie filling.

Combine sour cream, egg and vanilla and pour over top.
- Bake for 40 to 55 minutes or until golden brown.
