Ye Olde Fashioned Bread Pudding
My old man always used to say "if it's not broke, don't fix it." Ye Olde Fashioned Bread Pudding is a tribute to the classic. This recipe for bread pudding is exactly as it should be and makes what you remember in bread pudding.

Ingredients
- 3 cups milk
- 3 eggs (large)
- juice from 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 cups coarsely crumbled bread
- 1 1/2 cup freshly grated apple and/or 1/2 cup chopped, dried fruit
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Beat together milk, eggs, lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, honey and sugar. Mix together in a 9" x 13" baking pan the bread, fruit and nuts.
- Pour the first mixture into the pan over bread, and combine well. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Serve hot, warm, or cold with heavy cream, ice cream, fresh fruit or applesauce.
