Cheese Ball
Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
- 2 tablespoons milk or white wine
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon diced pimento (red pepper)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- dash hot pepper sauce
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup chopped parsley or finely chopped walnuts or pecans
- pimento strips (optional)
- assorted crackers
Instructions
Bring cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and margarine to room temperature. Add milk, onion, pimento, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce. Beat till combined. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours. To serve, shape mixture into a ball. Roll in parsley or nuts. Let stand 15 minutes. Garnish with pimento strips, if desired. Serve with crackers. Makes about 3 1/2 cups (12 servings)
