I'm a big smoothie fan but I always like to caution my clients/patients to be careful about how much you actually put in those smoothies! If you wouldn't sit down and eat a banana, chopped fruit, juice, oats, etc then be cautious of drinking all of that at once! Even healthy foods add up.

I love making myself an afternoon smoothie. It's a great snack that's much healthier than chips or ice cream.
