Goan Style Fried Tofu
Instructions
- 1 pound fried tofu
- 1-inch piece ginger, chopped
- 8 cloves garlic, peeled.
- 1 1/2 cups water.
- 4 tablespoons peanut oil
- 6 medium onions peeled and chopped
- 1 hot chili peppers, sliced in rounds
- 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1/2 fresh coconut, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Blend garlic and ginger. Add half of the water and blend until smooth.
- Heat oil in a large pan. When hot add onion and fry until translucent.
- Now add the paste from the blender with chillies, tumeric, and. cumin and fry for 1 minute.
- Add coconut, salt and remainder of. water.
- Bring to boil. Add the tofu, mix well. Bring to boil. Cover and lower heat. Serve immediately.
