Pear Sherbet

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 fresh, ripe pears, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 2-inch cinnamon stick
  • 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

In saucepan, combine water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes. Add peeled, cored, sliced pears and cinnamon to the hot sugar syrup. Cook, stirring occasionally, on low heat until pears are tender. Strain mixture through a sieve. Cool. Add lemon juice to the cooled mixture. Churn-freeze.
