Pear orange Compote

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Rind and juice of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 4 large underripe pears, peeled

Instructions

In saucepan combine sugar, water, shredded orange rind and juice, and lemon juice. Bring to boil and boil for 5 minutes. Add pears. Bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until pears are tender. Serve warm or cold, with sweet or sour cream, as desired. Makes 4 servings.
