Baltic German Beet Relish
Ingredients
- 1 qt raw cabbage
- 1 qt cooked beets
- 2 cup plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper
- 2/3 cup grated prepared horseradish
- white vinegar
Instructions
Chop cabbage and beets. Add seasonings and horseradish. Mix thoroughly. Cover with cold vinegar. Put into quart jars. Cover and refrigerate. Will keep up to one year in refrigerator.
