Holiday Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 12 egg yolks
  • 12 egg whites
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 quart heavy cream
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 quart bourbon whisky (optional)
  • 1 cup rum (optional)

Instructions

Beat egg yolks with 1 cup of sugar and salt until very light. Beat whites until stiff and beat in 1/2 cup sugar. Combine and beat until thoroughly blended. Beat in cream , then milk. Stir in whisky. if used. Beat well, then add rum if used. Pour into a gallon jug. Store in a cool place. shake thoroughly before serving.
