Vanilla Butter Frosting
Ingredients
- 3 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 t vanilla extract
- 5 T unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 4 to 5 T. sour cream
Instructions
Cuisinart recipe. Metal Blade: Put the sugar and salt in the work bowl and process for 5 seconds. Add the vanilla, butter and 4 T. of sour cream. Process for 5 seconds. add the remaining sour cream, if necessary, to bring the frosting to spreading consistency. Makes enough frosting for the top and sidea of 2 8-inch layers. For Chocolate Butter Frosting, add 1/4 cup coccoa with the confectioners sugar. For Chocolate Walnut Butter Frosting, follow the above variation and add 1/3 C. of walnut pieces with the cocoa and sugar. Process until the nuts are finely mined before proceeding with the recipe.
