Champurrado

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup masa harina
  • 2 ounce Mexican chocolate or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

Combine 1 cup water with masa harina. Let sit for 15 minutes. Put 1 1/2 cups water saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil. . Strain masa harina mixture into boiling water. Add chocolate and stir until melted and smooth. Add cinnamon stick. Reduce heat to low, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Whip to frothy consistency with a molinillo. Stir in sugar. Yield: 4 servings
