Cherry Candy
Ingredients
- 2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup quartered candied cherries
Instructions
In 2-quart glass measuring cup with handle, combine sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, butter and salt. Microwave on HIGH 5 Minutes. Stir well until sugar dissolves. Microwave on HIGH 6 minutes or just until mixture reaches 236 degrees F. Let stand 15 minutes, do not stir. Add vanilla, beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss (about 6 minutes). Stir in cherries and nuts. quickly pour in buttered 8 1/2 x 4 1/2" loaf pan. Cool and cut in squares. Makes about 1 1/2 lbs.
