Fragrant Yellow Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 3 whole cloves
- 3 cardamom pods
Instructions
Wash rice 5 or 6 times and drain. Mix all of the ingredients in a microwave safe dish, with a cover. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, then microwave on half power for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork. (Since microwave wattage varies, cooking time may require adjusting.) If using a stove top, bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
