Old Fashioned Pumpernickel
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup cracked rye
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
Instructions
Soak cracked rye for one hour in 2 cups very hot water. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Put in a 8 or 9 inch lightly greased microwave Bundt pan. Cover with wax paper and cook. 8 minutes on HI and 20 minutes on Low. This is a very dense loaf. Serve in thin slices about 1/4 inch thick.
