Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 16-ounce can tomatoes, coarsley chopped
- 6 ounce can tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoon basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
In medium pan over medium heat, in hot oil, cook garlic and onion until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and their liquid, tomato paste, sugar, basil and salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for about 20 minutes or until thickened. Makes 3 cups sauce.
