    German Chocolate Pie

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • 1 tablespoon flour
    • pinch salt
    • 2 1/2 cups milk
    • 4 egg yolks
    • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, broken up
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 1/4 ounces coconut
    • 2 1/2 ounces pecans

    Instructions

    Mix together the sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt. Beat together the milk and egg yolks. Add to the dry ingredients. Bring to a boil and let boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add the chocolate and vanilla. Stir until the chocolate is dissolved. Add the coconut and pecans. Pour into a pre-baked pie shell and let cool to set up. Top with whipped cream and more coconut and pecans.
