Homemade Fruit Cobbler

Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh fruit
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water, cold
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1 1/3 cup Bisquick
- 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- For fruit, use 6-7 large peaches, peeled and sliced. Okay to substitute blueberries, or a mixture of peaches and blueberries. Sweeten to taste.
- Heat sweetened fruit and water.
- Blend cornstarch with cold water and stir into heated fruit.
- Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute.
- Pour into 2 quart casserole. Dot with butter or margarine.
- To make shortcake dough, mix together Bisquick, sugar, melted and cooled butter, and milk until a soft dough is formed.
- Drop dough by spoonful onto hot fruit.
- Bake for about 20 minutes. Serve warm.
