    Homemade Fruit Cobbler

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups fresh fruit
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 2 tablespoons water, cold
    • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
    • 1 1/3 cup Bisquick
    • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter, melted and cooled
    • 1/4 cup milk

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
       
    2. For fruit, use 6-7 large peaches, peeled and sliced. Okay to substitute blueberries, or a mixture of peaches and blueberries. Sweeten to taste.
       
    3. Heat sweetened fruit and water.
       
    4. Blend cornstarch with cold water and stir into heated fruit.
       
    5. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute.
       
    6. Pour into 2 quart casserole. Dot with butter or margarine.
       
    7. To make shortcake dough, mix together Bisquick,  sugar, melted and cooled butter, and milk until a soft dough is formed.
       
    8. Drop dough by spoonful onto hot fruit.
       
    9. Bake for about 20 minutes. Serve warm.
