Sweet and Simple Apple Pie
This Sweet and Simple Apple Pie is the way to go when you're figuring out what to make for your Thanksgiving desserts. We usually like to make at least two pies in my family, so it's nice to have options. Apple is is an obvious choice after pumpkin, and the simpler the recipe, the better because after all your baking is done, you can spend more time with your family. This simple apple pie recipe uses fresh Granny Smith and Fuji apples and pre-made pastry dough for the crust. Sweet and simple ingredients make this the apple pie everyone will ask for!
Ingredients
- 2 sheets Pillsubry refrigerated pie dough
- 5 cup apples (Granny Smith and Fuji)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Slice the apples (peel if desired).

Mix together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, lemon juice, and heavy cream. Pour over apples and mix well.

Place one sheet of Pillsubry refrigerated pie dough in a pie dish and pour in apple mixture.

Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon and sugar over the top of the apples before covering with another sheet of Pillsubry refrigerated pie dough.

Bake for 50 minutes or until top is golden brown. Sprinkle with more sugar and cinnamon if desired.
