Easy Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 box bread machine mix
- 1 pkg prepared pizza tomato sauce
- 1 pkg sliced pepperoni
- 1 small onion, diced, about 1 cup
- 1 green pepper, diced, about 1 cup
- 1 can sliced mushrooms
- 1 can sliced olives
- 1 pkg Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
- 1 pkg Mozarella cheese (8 oz)
Instructions
Prepare Bread dough in a large mixing bowl using water and yeast as called for on the package. (Add a tbsp. Olive oil for taste, if you like.) You do not have to use a bread machine if you do not have one (I don't). Knead thoroughly and set covered, in a warm place. Let set at least one hour, dough should double in size. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Divide dough in half. Lightly grease two 15" pizza pans and roll out each half of dough in each pan. Perforate dough all around with fork. For a thicker, "pan" style dough, prebake each crust for about five minutes. (optional). Add ingredients as follows: Pizza tomato sauce - If using tomato paste and spices, mix may be slightly thinned with water. Note: Do not use regular tomato sauce, only paste or prepared pizza sauce. Regular tomato sauce will make the pizza too "wet" and "runny". Cheeses - add about half of each type of cheese to each pizza. Sprinkle on evenly. Add Mushrooms, Distribute evenly. Add Olives, Distribute evenly. Add Onions, Green Peppers, and Pepperoni (add last), Distribute evenly. Bake on bottom rack for about 15 - 20 minutes, but do not let the crust or cheese burn. Baking on the bottom rack will result in a crispier crust. For a chewy, "pan" pizza crust, use the top rack. Cut with a pizza roller and enjoy. Variations may include adding either cooked Italian sausage, cooked hamburger, deli meats, or other prepared meat. Omitting meats and pepperoni results in a lower fat content pizza, when using the low/no-fat cheeses.
