BBQ Pork Sausage Balls with Dip and Sauce

Use flavorful pork sausage to create meatballs in a homemade BBQ sauce. A tangy horse-radish dipping sauce is also included.These meatballs make great party food.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup dry cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup horseradish, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. For sauce, mix catsup vinegar, brown sugar and soy sauce well. For dip, mix sour cream, horseradish, Worcestershire, celery seed, salt and paprika well.
     
  2. Mix sausage, egg, crumbs and sage well. Roll into balls about 1-inch in diameter.
     
  3. Brown on all sides in lightly-oiled skillet.. Pour off grease. Add sauce.
     
  4. Turn to cover all. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Spear sausage ball with toothpick, then dip into tangy sour cream dip and eat.
