Amish Chow Chow
Amish Chow Chow is my grandma's take on the classic dish. Made with the freshest vegetables, if you love authentic Amish recipes as mush as i do you will love this one. Share it with your family and loved ones.
Ingredients
- 2 quarts small green tomatoes
- 12 small cucumbers
- 3 red peppers
- 1 cauliflower
- 2 bunches celery
- 1 pint small onions
- 2 quarts string beans
- 1/4 pound mustard seed
- 2 ounces turmeric
- 1/2 ounce allspice
- 1/2 ounce black pepper
- 1/2 ounce cloves
- salt, to taste
- 1 gallon vinegar
Instructions
- Prepare vegetables and cut in small pieces.
- Cover with salt, let stand twenty-four hours, and drain.
- Heat vinegar and spices to boiling point, add vegetables, and cook until soft.
