Brown Apple Jam
Ingredients
- 3 kgs apple (any variety)
- 4 cup water
- grated rind and juice of 3 lemons
- 2 1/2 kg brown sugar
Instructions
Peel core, and slice apples. Put the peelings and cores into saucepan add water and simmer gently for 20 minutes, then strain. Add sliced apples to the liquid, then add the lemon juice and grated rind. Cook apples until soft, then add the brown sugar. Boil until it reaches setting point, pour into hot sterilised jars and seal.
