Dill Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. cider vinegar
  • 4 qt. water
  • 2 cup coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon alum
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Bring this to a boil. Wash medium sized cucumbers. Pack in jars (any size). Place a large dill pod to each quart. Cover with boiling mixture and seal. If you want hot pickles, place a hot pepper and garlic in each jar.
