Kelp Bread & Butter Pickles
Ingredients
- 30 Kelp slices, 4 or 5 inches long
- 10 med. onions, sliced
- 5 C apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp tumeric
- 2 tsp celery seed
- 2 C honey
- 2 tsp mustard seed
Instructions
Bring to a boil. Simmer 10 min. Pack kelp in sterilized jars. Pour brine over kelp and onions to 1/2 in. of top. Put lids on jars and water bath 10 min. Makes 8 pints. Tastes like sweet relish.
