Pear Relish
Ingredients
- 1 gallon pears
- 1/2 gallon onions
- 12 green bell peppers
- 12 red bell peppers
- 1/2 cup salt (or less)
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 4 pound sugar (8 cups)
- 1 quart vinegar
- 1 Tbsp celery seed
- 2 Tbsp mustard seed
- 2 Tbsp turmeric
Instructions
Grind pears, onions and bell peppers. Drain well in colander. Add remaining ingredients to drained mixture and bring to a boil. Boil 7 minutes. Place in hot sterilized jars and seal while hot. Makes 18 pints.
