Preserve your Pickled Asparagus
Not everyone knows how to take care of their veggies. Be sure you preserve your Pickled Asparagus if you want to keep it fresh.
Ingredients
- asparagus
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 pickling salt
- 1 dill weed
- 1 dried hot pepper, optional
- vinegar
Instructions
For 1 jar - easily multiplied.
1. Wash asparagus, snap off tough ends and trim to fit into pint jar leaving 1/2" headspace.
2. Pack into jar.
3. Add 1 clove garlic, 2 teaspoons pickling salt, 1 teaspoon dill weed add 1 teaspoon dried hot pepper if you wish (I leave out).
4. Fill jar halfway with white vinegar, then add boiling water to fill jar leaving 1/2" headspace.
5. Adjust lid.
6. Process in boiling water bath canner for 10 minutes.
7. Works for dilly beans as well. I use fresh dill heads for my beans.
