Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- Melted butter, as needed
- 4 slices of Rye bread
- 1/4 cup thousand island dressing
- 4 slices of American cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small onion, sliced
Instructions

Saute onion in butter until onion starts to brown. Remove and set aside

Form ground beef into 2 separate patties and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. In the same skillet as the onions, cook the patties about 5 minutes until no longer pink in the center. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Spread butter over one side of each slice of bread. Place in skillet, butter side down, and toast until lightly browned.

Place 2 slices of cheese on 2 slices of toast and top each one with beef patty, some onions and dressing. Top with remaining toast and serve.
