    Spanish Rice

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb. lean ground beef
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
    • 1 t bacon bits
    • 1 t salt
    • 1/2 t garlic salt
    • pepper to taste
    • 1 15oz can tomato sauce
    • 1 cup raw long grain white rice

    Instructions

    Cook beef until browned Add onion, peppers, and seasonings. Cook until pepper and onion are soft. Add rice and tomatoes with 1 tomato can of water. Cover skillet tightly. When it begins to boil, turn to low and simmer 20 minutes.Stir occasionally and add more water if needed. (Can be baked in a preheated oven 350 for 45 minutes.)
