Grandmother's Timeless Cranberry Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
  • 2 to 3 stalks celery
  • 2 to 3 apples, peeled and cored
  • sugar to taste
  • whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Grind together the cranberries, celery, and apples with an old-fashioned food grinder or a food processor. Color should be a rich red.
     
  2. Add sugar to taste (the amount will depend on how tart the apples are).
     
  3. Spread into a bowl and chill thoroughly.
     
  4. Shortly before serving, spread a layer of whipped cream over the top.
