Old-Fashioned Seven Layer Salad
This classic 7-layer salad recipe is an old classic at potlucks, picnics and barbecues. Old-Fashioned Seven Layer Salad is a delicious green salad layered with bacon, hard-boiled eggs, and more! The dressing is a mayonnaise dressing that adds great flavor and creaminess to the salad. Plus, it makes enough to feed a crowd so it's the perfect dish to bring to parties. Simply layer the ingredients in a big bowl and serve!
Ingredients
- 2 head iceburg lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 pound bacon, fried and crumbled
- 6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cup grated cheddar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, layer the above ingredients in the order indicated.
- Mix together the mayonnaise and sugar, then drop over the top of the salad in dollops. Spread the dressing out so it reaches the edges of the bowl.
- Refrigerate until serving time, up to 24 hours.
