Picnic Green Bean Salad
This refreshing no-cook salad recipe is perfect for a summer picnic. Mixed with green beans, fresh onions, and a homemade dressing, it goes well with any of your grilled foods. Make it for your family today.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh Italian green beans, flat, stringless
- 3 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoon cider vinegar
- 1 tomato, diced
- 2 clove garlic minced
- 1 small onion or 2 green onions, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh terragon
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- salt. to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions

Snap ends of beans and cut into 1" pieces. Either steam until just tender -- about 10 minutes -- or boil in lightly salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse with cool water but do not let them get cool. Drain. Or use frozen green beans and completely thaw them.

Add the tomato, oil and vinegar, sugar, salts and pepper, garlic and onion, and mix well. Adjust the seasonings to your taste. Chill for one to two hours.
- Place the salad on a platter or other long dish with a lip. Enjoy.
