Easy Baked Frito Pie
It goes by many names, such as Frito boat or walking taco, but in the South it's referred to as Frito pie. You may associate this cheap, hearty and easy meal with high school football games, but this Easy Baked Frito Pie presents all the flavors of the portable version in an easy-to-make casserole. Alternate layers of beef chili and Frito corn chips make up this Frito chili pie recipe that makes enough to serve the whole family.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean hamburger
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/3 can water
- 1 bouillon cube
- 1 (16-ounce) can kidney beans or chile beans with liquid
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon chile powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (6-ounce) bag Fritos corn chips
- 1 head lettuce
- 1 onion, regular or green, chopped
- cheese, grated
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cook meat, onion and garlic until brown, add tomato sauce.

Rinse out the tomato sauce can with water and add to skillet along with bouillon, beans, oregano, chile powder and salt and pepper.

In a 2-quart casserole, alternate layers of beef mixture and corn chips ending with chips.

Cover, bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes more. Top with shredded lettuce, chopped onion and grated cheese.

Sounds good to me. I didn't see anything that referred to Texas, just the South.

Here in Texas, We do not put kidney beans in chili. We do not put any beans in Chili Ya'll need to learn a little about TX. before you say some of this stuff.
