Quick Barbecued Beans
"We do a lot of our summer cooking outside, when it’s so hot the last thing I want to do is turn on the oven and make the house hotter. One of my husband’s favorite side dishes is Cowboy Beans but sometimes I don’t plan ahead that good but I would still like a good bean dish. I found this recipe for Quick Barbecued Beans in the cookbook Taste of Home American Summer Cookbook: Fast Weeknight Favorites, backyard barbecues and everything in between and thought this would be a great time saving but yummy alternative to Cowboy Beans. What’s great about this recipe is I already had everything on hand and all I had to do was toss it all in a 8 inch baking pan and it was ready to go in just a few minutes. Yes, I did add bacon to the recipe because bacon makes everything better and I took a little shortcut and used Hormel Fully Cooked Bacon but the taste was still amazing! I didn’t have a disposable foil pan either but I do have a couple of really cheap pans that I got a couple of years ago at Walmart that were only $.88 so I’m not bothered by tossing them on the grill or smoker. Quick Barbecued Beans are the perfect quick side dish, simple to make, but still full of amazing flavor. It’s perfect for those busy days when you need a delicious side dish but don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen. Give this recipe a try and watch as it quickly becomes a staple in your outdoor kitchen this summer! WH"
