    Spicy One Pot Brunswick Stew

    This spicy one pot Brunswick stew is good ol' fashioned southern comfort food. Cooked in a slow cooker, Brunswick stew is filled with strong and spicy flavors. This simple and hearty stew will feed your belly and your soul.

    Ingredients

    • 3 pounds chicken, cut up
    • 2 quarts water
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2 cups ham, cooked and cubed
    • 1 cup stew meat, diced
    • 4 potatoes, diced
    • 2 cans (about 16 ounces) tomatoes
    • 1 can stewed tomatoes
    • 1 pound lima beans, thawed
    • 1 pound corn, partially thawed
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 carrot, shredded
    • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
    • 2 beef bouillon cubes
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    Instructions

    1. In a slow cooker combine chicken with water, onion, ham, stew meat, and potatoes. Cook covered on low setting for 4 to 5 hours, or until chicken is done.
       
    2. Lift chicken out of pot; remove meat from bones. Return chicken meat to pot. Add tomatoes, beans, corn, salt, seasoned salt, sugar, pepper, carrot, hot sauce, bouillon cubes, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and cook on high setting for one hour.
