Sweet Chex Mix
Ingredients
- 12 oz.corn chex
- 12 oz.rice chex
- 12 oz.crispix
- 1 pkg coconut (optional)
- 2 pkg pecans
- 1 pkg raisins (optional)
- 1 lb. butter
- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- 2 lb. brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 teaspoon soda
Instructions
Mix cereals, coconut, pecans and raisins well and divide into 2 heavy brown grocery bags. Then mix together and bring to a boil the butter, syrup, sugar and salt. Simmer for 5 full minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla soda. Pour 1/2 of mixture over each bag and stir well. Bake on sprayed cookie sheets or sheet cake pans at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool, store tightly covered. Freezes well.
