Cream of Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 pint tomato juice
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 Tbsp onion, finely diced
Instructions
Simmer together for about 10 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Cover and keep hot. In a large pot, make white sauce of: 1 quart milk 3 Tbsp butter 3 Tbsp flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper Just before serving, slowly add tomato mixture to white sauce (not white sauce to tomatoes as it will curdle). At the table pass the celery salt shaker.
