Goulash Soup
Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 4 ribs celery, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 quart water
- 1-16 ounce package elbow macaroni
- 1-29 ounce can whole tomatoes
- 1-6 ounce can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, crushed
- 1-2 teaspoons salt
- 1-2 teaspoons sugar
Instructions
In large saucepan or kettle brown hamburger. Remove and drain grease from hamburger. Put hamburger in soup pot. Add onion, green pepper, celery and garlic. Cook and stir 10 minutes. Add water, bring to boil and stir in macaroni. Cook until macaroni is tender. Reduce heat and drain tomato liquid into meat mixture. Chop tomatoes and add to meat mixture along with tomato paste, pepper and Italian seasoning. Add salt and sugar to taste. Stir well to mix all ingredients and heat through.
