Easy Chicken and Dumplings

You may add more seasonings, such as garlic powder, or vegetables such as onion or celery if desired.

Ingredients

  • 6 to 10 chicken drumsticks or thighs
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large stock pot, boil seasoned chicken in water for about one and a half hours. In a medium bowl, combine flour, egg, salt and pepper.
     
  2. Mix well with hands until dough is pliable and dough rubs off hands with ease.
     
  3. Place on wooden cutting board or on dry surface and roll with rolling pin until very thin.
     
  4. Cut into thin strips and place, small amounts at a time, into chicken and stock.
     
  5. Do not over stir, but let cook on medium for about five minutes.
     
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
