    Green Beans and Mushrooms with Porter

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 pound assorted wild mushrooms, sliced
    • 2 handfuls fresh green beans, broken in half and steamed or microwaved
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary or tarragon, crushed
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or 1/2 teaspoon chile powder
    • 2 ounces porter or brown ale -- Guiness is great, or Boulder Porter

    Instructions

    1. Melt the butter and olive oil together in a skillet over med-high heat until very hot - almost smoking.
       
    2. Add the mushrooms and simmer quickly until cooked, about 2 minutes.
       
    3. Add the red pepper flakes and rosemary or tarragon.
       
    4. Add the green beans and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 or so minutes or until the green beans are done cooking.
       
    5. Add the beer, and boil like mad until it disappears. Thats it!
