    Spiced Chickpea Burgers

    Ingredients

    • 1 440 g can chickpeas; drained and pureed
    • 1/2 medium onion; grated
    • 1 medium carrot; grated
    • 2 tablespoons Indian relish or pickle
    • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
    • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
    • 3 tablespoons oatmeal
    • flour; to coat
    • 1 tablespoon oil

    Instructions

    Yield: 4 servings. Thoroughly mix the first 8 ingredients and shape into 8 balls. Flatten into burger shapes and coat with a little flour. Heat the oil and fry the burgers in batches for 10-12 minutes. Serve with a tomato and cucumber salad.
