Tvp Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 3 cups TVP granules
  • 2 1/2 boiling water
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 t basil
  • 2 T. veggie "chicken" broth powder
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup instant gluten flour or 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup finely minced parsley

Instructions

Mix in a large bowl TVP, water, ketchup, basil and broth powder. Let stand for 10 minutes. Saute onion in oil. Add onions to the rehydrated TVP and stir in. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Lightly oil a bread pan, pack mixture tightly in. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Turn it out after letting it set in pan after baking for about ten minutes. Garnish with lemon and parsley, or serve with tomato sauce, or gravy, etc. We do like this cold the next day in sandwiches.
