Root Beer Bread
Try some of this sweet and unique Root Beer Bread as a side to your next dinner. When it comes to bread recipes, this is surprisingly easy and absolutely a delightful surprise.

Ingredients
- 1 quart root beer
- 1/2 cup lard or shortening
- 2 packages yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2/3 cup molasses
- 3 cups rye flour or whole-wheat flower
- 7 cups white flour
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Heat root beer and shortening. Put in salt and molasses. Cool. Add yeast. Stir in flour. Knead and let rise twice.
- Put dough in bread pans and bake for 30-40 minutes. Makes 4 loaves.
