White Bread
Ingredients
- 2 pounds flour
- 3/4 ounce dry yeast
- 3 cups luke warm water
- 3 tsps salt
Instructions
Dissolve the yeast in the 1/8 of the water and mix. In a different bowl mix the flour and the salt. Add the dissolved yeast and the rest of the water. Mix everything and knead till you have a smooth dough (10-15 minutes). Form a ball with the dough, strew some flour over it and let it rise for 1 hour on a cooking sheet covered by a towel. Split it into equally parts and knead them just for a short time. Form two round flat loaves and put them on a cooking sheet, paint them with lukewarm water and let rise again for 15-20 minutes in a warm room. Bake them at 500F for 6-7 minutes and then turn down the heat to 350F. Take them out after 20 minutes or when they are browned nicely.
