Bennigan's Copycat Broccoli Bites

I used to go to Bennigan's when they were open. We had one in the area when I was in college. I don't remember if this was on the menu when I was a customer, but it's certainly appealing to me. It sounds like a variation on the jalapeno popper. I like broccoli, cheddar, and bacon, so this is definitely a recipe for which I'll be pulling out our deep fryer.

I have never been to a Bennigan's. I would try these. I like all the flavors. I love broccoli. Not sure about breaded and fried, but it is worth trying once. I really like the gluten free suggestions. Sometimes it is hard to know what work best when gluten can't be used.

I myself have never really had much use for using a deep fryer, so even I deep fry food like these bites all the time, I never got one. Instead I like to fill a pot, like the kind you can boil noodles in, at least a quarter of the way with my favorite frying oil, a blended oil works best for everything I make, cover the bites and deep fry them that way. Works wonderfully every time, although it does still use a lot more oil.

I'm usually "up" for most recipes with the exception of this one. I can't think of anything more disgusting than deep fried broccoli!
