I'm totally craving biscuits and gravy for some reason. I found this recipe and I'm really surprised to see that it's really just seasoning salt that is added for flavor. I guess maybe the breakfast sausage is seasoned enough? I would love some suggestions for what else people like to serve this with for a dinner? I like the fried potato idea that I see below. Any others? I am eager to try this one out. I think my husband will love it.

In my house, biscuits and gravy are for supper. Fried potatoes on the side. I could live off of this. This recipe for the gravy seems a bit milky to me. I start out with about half that amount and mix the flour into the milk and pour that over the sausage and grease that is bubbling. Once it thickens, I may add more milk or I may no need anymore.

Once in a while you just have to have comfort food! I made this for a winter church retreat and everyone loved it! It was warm and filling and there was plenty of it! I made a large slow cooker with a maple sausage and a smaller one with spicy sausage, so there was a choice for kids and adults. You can vary the amount of pepper, too, to change the heat.
