This ia a delicious cake My husband and I ate half of it within an hour of coming out of the oven and we've never done that before It's moist and oh so yummy To address some of the previous comments I baked it in an extra large loaf pand and it baked up in minutes At the minuted mark i covered it loosely with aluminum foil shiny side outwards as it was browning up nicely As to when it was done use a wooden toothpick when you insert the toothpick you should feel resistance as this is almost like a fruitcake inside If it is soft put it back for another to minutes then try again This cake is so easy to throw together hence the name Ten Minute Cake I sprayed the loaf pan with 'Pam for Baking and it came out beautifully After removing from the oven let…Read More it sit for minutes or so before removing from the bakeware This is a recipe I will be making over and over It's so delish and tastes like it took hours Enjoy

Hi gibsongirl28 7050671, No the recipe does not call for yellow cake mix as mixing all of the ingredients mixed together create the dough. It is called the 10 minute cake because that's all it takes to mix up the dough. Let us know how yours turned out when you try it! -Editors of RecipeLion

Does this recipe call for a yellow cake mix with the other ingredients? and why is it called a 10 minute cake? (maybe that's the reason why it's not done in the alloted time. GG

I haven't tried this cake but think I will-I like pineapple cake. I think maybe for those who did make this cake and it came out gooey might be because they used the wrong size can of crushed pineapple. I usually buy the 28 oz. size can of pineapple can see how that would be too much liquid.

Why is it called a Ten Minute cake? It takes over an hour to bake. Does assembling the ingredients take that long? It needs a different title.

Very moist cake and nice taste also. Its gooey and a little messy on the outside. All reviews were saying to bake longer that it was real runny in the middle. Mine was fine. I drained the pineapple first.

Cake in oven for 40-45 minutes comes out a gooie mess. Taste is good but must be baked longer

Cake tastes very good. It has to bake longer as at the time indicated on the recipe it is not done. I had a very messy cake even though I tested it with a toothpick before I took it out of the oven.
