I also found the idea of apple pudding rather intriguing. This looks like a really nice dessert and I know I'll be making this one up to try. I think a caramel drizzle and some chopped walnut pieces over the top of this would work quite well too, in place of the chocolate. There's a picnic coming up and I have a feeling this recipe may well get a tryout.

I was interested in this recipe when I read "apple pudding". This looks like it has a lot of ingredients and a lot of steps, but look at that beautiful dessert! When I have the time to do some serious baking in the Fall, I will be making this yummy cake. When I see recipes with apples, I think of cool Fall days when desserts served with coffee are so good!
