I love simple recipes like this. They're such a great timesaver. I've made these before, and varied the recipe in a number of ways. I've used different types of MMs in this, like peanut MMs, mint MMs, and peanut butter MMs. I've also used a mix of them, to make it a surprise when the cookie is bitten into. Something else I've done is to add a bit of peppermint extract to the cake batter, so there's a hint of mint in the cookie itself.
