Twenty-Four Hour Seven Layer Salad
The best green salad recipes aren't entirely green. Twenty-Four Hour Seven Layer Salad has a few ingredients besides the traditional green vegetables that make it extremely delicious. Spoiler alert: there's bacon involved. This recipe is very similar to a classic seven layer salad, but it's chilled for twenty-four hours before serving (hence the name). It's perfect for a picnic or a potluck because it's extremely easy to make for a large crowd. Best of all, you can customize the salad by adding your favorite ingredients.

I'm not sure either why this is called Twenty-Four Hour salad. Maybe the person who came up with this originally was a fan of the TV show 24? I'm not sure about letting the salad marinate for that long. Has anyone tried it with that lengthy a sitting time? It seems like a pretty straightforward layered salad recipe. I'd definitely add tomatoes to it, and substitute pea pods for the peas. I'd probably only include olives if I were making it for others since they're not a favorite of mine.
